STOREPERSON / PORTER

Who are we?

In short we are Adelaide's largest estate auction rooms. We love auctions. We love the story. We love the find.

Who are we looking for?

Someone who lives and breathes six star customer service. Someone who is versatile, enthusiastic, plays well with others and first in to get the job done. We don’t expect you to know anything about antiques, art or collectables, it does help to have an interest though.

So what will you be doing?

This is a unique role in our “smalls” area. Every day you'll be run off your feet, bouncing from one project to the next and all with a smile. After all attitude is everything. Around 40 hours per week, some early mornings and some late nights. So if you love racing out at 5.01pm of a Friday, this wont be the job for you. The minimum is you'll know how to use a computer and database, be good with numbers, have an artistic flair for writing and the courage to always do the right thing. This is a physically demanding role, and you will be on your feet 8-10 hours a day.

How to apply?

Please email a one (1) page letter of application to Jason – jason@scammellauctions.com.au (no cv's at this stage), tell us why you are the best fit for our team and answer the following question -

Who is Joachim Wendt and what did they do?

The hourly rate will be negotiated and is on a full time basis (3 month probationary period). This role reports to the Auction Manager.

SPECIALIST PHILATELIC CONSULTANT

We have a position vacant for a "Consultant Philatelic Expert" to assist us cataloguing Estate collections for forthcoming auctions.  This ideally suits someone wanting casual work, at their own pace and days/times negotiated to achieve our outcomes.

What we are after - We have an excellent team, and whilst diverse in nature we are a very congruent and work well together........and you will need to fit with us.  We don't need shrinking violets, robots or people who use I instead of we.  You'll be able to think on your feet, be extremely customer service focused, someone who strives to be better and willing to learn.

We have a large collection of Australian (and some International) stamps that require sorting and cataloguing for auction.  Above all you will be trust worthy.

The minimum criteria for the role – You will have a high level of expertise in collecting and/or curating collections of Australian (mainly) stamps.  You do not need direct auction experience, just a general knowledge of how auctions work. You will be a great communicator and enjoy working in a small team environment and have the attitude of wanting to help others.

To apply a letter of application to jason@scammellauctions.com.au Within your letter of application you will express your expertise in philatelics and why we should interview above anyone else.

The hourly rate will be negotiated and is on a causal basis. This role reports to the Auction Manager.
